Friday Conclusion

It may or may not surprise you to know that, there is many an evening when The Cupcakes can be found screaming their heads off at the television while they’re watching MSNBC.  You see, as a team, The Cupcakes are fervent liberals who miss RFK, Jr. and who, as children, both campaigned for underdogs and grew up thinking that the way the world was set up was off by about fifty million miles in its unfairness and who, as adults, think that people who aim to oppress others are assholes that need to be stopped.

We may sound like big downers but we’re not. In fact, we’re quite lovely as human beings.  Or at least we try to be. It’s just that we have a tendency to work ourselves into a lather when we listen to the likes of Rush or Mitt or Rick and we think How could they THINK that way? Don’t they see how wrong they are? Don’t they understand that there is a sea change happening and they are not at the helm?  Don’t they care about ANYONE but themselves? And when we think this way there is, inevitably, a part of our righteous brains that knows that those pasty white millionaire bozos feel the exact same way about us and this discourages us and propels us into another wormhole of Fuck Them!ness. Which brings me to my point and my conclusion:

THERE WILL BE EVENINGS AT THE END OF CERTAIN WEEKS WHEN IT IS APPARENT THAT THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH SOME OF YOUR FELLOW MEN IS THAT YOU BOTH RESIDE UNDER THE SAME  FULL, BRIGHT, GLOWING MOON AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU CAN SAY TO YOURSELF THAT IF THIS IS THE BEST YOU ALL CAN DO AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME THAN THIS IS PLENTY OKAY.

Whatever happens to the least of them happens to me,
Sophia Socialist

  1. The Zadge says:

Soph, listen, these guys are AWESOME! You should be cheering for them. They are so WHACKED that they could never, ever, under a million glowing moons beat our man, B.O. Wow, I never realized until now what bad initials he had.

  2. On the wall in my house is the alleged zen saying:
On whose door does the moonlight not shine?

    • Cupcake Murphy Cupcake Murphy says:

I love that. In all my loser polemic anger it helps me to focus on things that are unarguable.

  3. You said it Sophia! I remember my mother parking the baby carriage outside a church that had a photo of RFK and MLK on an easel, all draped in black. She ushered all the kids into the church, and we knelt on wooden kneeler’s and prayed hard the world wasn’t going crazy. I was 10.

    Still prayin hard, sister.
