The Cupcake Lessons

I’ve learned a lot in my life.  For example, I’ve learned that chips and guacamole are very important to men and I’ve learned that you should never go “Huhm?” when a woman is telling you she thinks you’re a bad listener.

I’ve also learned that, if you want to stay alive inside a marriage with someone who is as strong willed and bossy as you are, you MUST orchestrate military-type maneuvers as if you were General Patton in the dark shroud of that time before dinner when people are extra relaxed and distracted, and you must forge forward and keep your head down and your eyes on the prize and you must INSIST that the project that was once called DOWNLOADING ALL OF OUR MUSIC ONTO OUR iPOD never be put to rest until you have fully inspected the musical device that seems to now suspiciously possess primarily Husker Du, Toots and the Maytals, Black Flag and Dead Kennedys because you may find at the end of your exhaustive recon a MOTHER LODE of your lost favorites, the least of which is your beloved 2CD special: Rufus and Chaka Khan, Live at the Savoy that you thought was lost forever and I’ve learned that if you have that special combo of stick-to-it-iveness and the ability to figure out how iTunes works there will be NO END to the bounty you will reap.

okay so it only took me two months to clue in that your blog moved but man oh man am I glad I did because there was a hole in my heart only I didn’t know it, I just kept hearing a whoosh and then is started sounding like whooshcake and then it became cupcake and there you were. I feel for you and your shared ipod. My advice, a kickstarter campaign raise the funds to get your own, all the cool kids are doing them. xo
